EverVolt Battery Storage System
Panasonic, which makes batteries for Tesla, is one of the top producers of batteries in the world. It introduced its residential battery storage device, the EverVolt, in 2019. The EverVolt is a scalable energy storage system that’s configurable as an AC or DC-coupled system.
How Does The Panasonic EverVolt work?
The Panasonic EverVolt system is designed to work as a DC battery when connected directly to a solar array. With a Panasonic EverVolt SmartBox, it can also take power from an AC solar array. The SmartBox is Panasonic’s intelligent load management system, which transfers power from the grid to the battery during outages and can manage power to devices in your home during a blackout. It can also maximize your energy use to maximize potential savings by using your power when grid prices are high and pulling from the grid when prices are low.
EverVolt Battery Storage System Design
The Panasonic EverVolt Battery is available in 3 different cabinet sizes and 9 kWh, 13.5 kWh, and 18 kWh options. They’re modular and you can combine up to four units together achieving up to 72 kWhs of storage capacity for whole-home power for days of energy storage.
